Purchasing Officer

Aegean Airlines Company Location Athens

In the Purchasing team there is currently the vacancy of "Purchasing Officer’’.

 

The Purchasing Officer assures the efficient supply with approved and qualified spare parts in order to support the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements of the aircraft.

 

This position brings along the following responsibilities:

·         Generates and dispatches purchase, repair and exchange orders to the suppliers

·         Generates and dispatches loan orders of spare parts and co-ordinates for the on-time return of the borrowed equipment

·         Negotiates better pricing and better terms

·         Monitors and evaluates the cost of purchase and the cost of repairs of the spare parts

·         Covers the out of office hours supply requirements in urgent cases (AOG)

·         Covers the supply of spare parts related to Base Maintenance by travelling abroad to Maintenance Repair Centers

·         Monitors and adjusts the stock levels of the spare parts

·         Monitors the flow of the pending orders in order to achieve the on-time delivery to Technical Stores

·         Plans for the supply of spare parts which are needed for scheduled maintenance

·         Monitors the failures of components and generates, administrates any warranty claims

·         Evaluates which spare parts can be repaired also rejects and scraps the ones which are not repairable or they are considered beyond economical repair

 

Candidates should have the following personal requirements:

·         Methodical and analytical skills

·         Strong organizational skills

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Negotiation skills

·         Ability to work in a team

·         Proactive approach

 

And the following educational requirements and work experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in economics and/or technical field

·         Advanced knowledge of MS Office

·         Fluent English (written and spoken)

·         Fluent use of German language will be considered an asset

·         Experience in technical department in an airline environment will be considered an asset

·         Experience in AMOS software system will be considered an asset
