Call for Research Project Proposals 2020 - Hellenic Observatory LSE
The Hellenic Observatory invites applications from researchers to conduct time-sensitive and globally competitive policy relevant research on contemporary Greece and/or Cyprus.

 programme is an exciting research initiative that the Hellenic Observatory launched in 2018 to further fulfil and develop its mission and study of contemporary Greece and Cyprus in the field of the social sciences. The programme has become possible due to new funding granted for the specific purpose of furthering the Hellenic Observatory’s research agenda. The Hellenic Observatory would like to acknowledge grateful and sincere thanks to the A.C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation (ACLCF) and Dr Vassili G. Apostolopoulos for the provision of funding for this purpose.

Research Themes & Level of Awards
Researchers are invited to submit a research proposal on one of the following themes:

1. Industrial Renaissance and a New Industrial Policy for Greece
£20,000 grant - projects should run for a maximum 24 months (1 award)
2. Revisiting Greece's Policies for the Balkans 
£8,000 grant - project should run for a maximum 12 months (1 award)

3. The Impact of IT on the Greek Public Sector OR The Greek 'Gig Economy'
£8,000 grant - project should run for a maximum 12 months (1 award)
Applications are to be submitted electronically by Sunday 26 April 2020 (23.59 GMT) in Word format to and the subject line of the email should read “HO Call 2020”.
